Berkel Slicer
36 x 24 Oil on Hand-stretched Canvas.
This oil painting was a commission. The client had traveled to Italy with his wife for their fifth anniversary and while there, they visited some popular chefs. My client loves to cook, so while visiting these chefs, he noticed a Berkel Slicer (for slicing meat) in one of the kitchens. He fell in love with it and wished he could have one in his own kitchen, but since there just was not enough room for the real thing, he settled for an oil painting of a Berkel Slicer for his kitchen. So glad I was able to do this for him. It was fun and challenging to paint all of the reflections on the chrome, the shiny surface of the slicer, and the blade. In the wheel on the left, there is a reflection of the U.S. Capitol. My client lives in the Washington DC area.

Great painting! I don’t know how you painted the blade. That’s incredible. Love looking at your paintings Susan. You are a great artist.
